Free Quran Chapter 102: Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

Learn from GOD that you shouldn’t be absorbed with hoarding materialistic things. If you spend too much time on chasing money, friends, social status, power etcetera. You will then one day realize that you have wasted your life on things that don’t really matter in the afterlife. It is simply logical, if a day is 24 hours and you sleep 8 hours, then you have 16 hours left. And if you work or study for 8 hours, then you have only 8 hours remaining every day. Most people spend these 8 hours doing absolutely nothing valuable. Some will spend it all on work just to gain a little extra money. But then they waste all that extra money during a weekend or on vacation. If you do this every day for many years, then you will have wasted most of your life. This is also why poor people stay poor. They focus too much on chasing money and social status, instead of just clearing their head, educate themselves and grow spiritually. People are easily trapped by the illusion that “more is better”. But more is not better. Because people always want more. If you have a big mansion and 10 cars, then you want a bigger mansion and 100 cars. Many people are stuck in this illusion because it satisfies the ego. The ego promises that the next thing will satisfy them, but then it doesn’t, so the ego promises them again and again that the next thing will satisfy them, but nothing ever will. These people can also be very dangerous because they are completely absorbed by their illusion and would even go as far as stealing and killing. They are only stable as long as they can get what they want.

[102:2] Until you go to the graves.

[102:3] Indeed, you will find out.

[102:4] Most assuredly, you will find out.

[102:5] If only you could find out for certain.

[102:6] You would envision Hell.

[102:7] Then you would see it with the eye of certainty.

[102:8] Then you will be questioned, on that day, about the blessings you had enjoyed.
